Tension – Temecula Will Continue Operations as Part of the Nation’s Critical Infrastructure

Updated March 20, 2020

Yesterday, March 19, California Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered his state’s residents to stay home except for essential activities. Tension’s Temecula manufacturing plant, as part of the country’s essential critical infrastructure, will continue to operate.

We are following the guidelines of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), who executes actions on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security. The guidance they have released states that if you work in a critical infrastructure industry, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, “you have a special responsibility to maintain your normal work schedule.” Tension, as part of the that infrastructure, takes this responsibility very seriously.

Additionally, Tension supports the USPS®. They are considered an essential service and part of the country’s critical infrastructure. They share more information here:

In addition, the Postal Service is an essential service for purposes of its compliance with state or municipality shelter-in-place orders or other social distancing restrictions. The Postal Service delivers medications, social security checks, and is the leading delivery service for on-line purchases. The statute that created the Postal Service begins with the following sentence. “The United States Postal Service shall be operated as a basic and fundamental service provided to the people by the Government of the United States, authorized by the Constitution, created by an Act of Congress, and supported by the people.” 39 U.S.C. §101(a).
